I am not a lawyer, but have enough exposure to the field of Intellectual Property to have developed immense respect for its complexity and subtleties. It is difficult to devise a reasonable and fair set of policies as regards intellectual property rights, and then still more difficult to use the blunt instrument of the law to implement that policy. I have not always agreed with Dr. Lessig's analyses, but he and his team have obviously put orders of magnitude more thought into this than I ever will, so I'm inclined to trust their implementation of what seems to me like a reasonable and fair licensing arrangement.
