Another Song of the Day that got here because it’s on the radio right now, and I smile every time they play it. The lyric in full says “I wish I knew you when I was young.” It resonates pretty deep for someone of my age. Of course, the guys in the band (The Revivalists) are young, but that doesn’t seem to get in the way.

This is the one, I’m sure you’ve heard it recently: You shine like a star / You know who you are / You're everything beautiful…

The Revivalists

The Revivalists are a bunch of white boys from New Orleans; until I started poking around to write this piece I didn’t realize they were a big complicated band with a horn section and a steel guitar, who stretch out in songs and go in surprising instrumental directions. I think I’ve become a fan.

This is part of the Song of the Day series (background).
