I didn’t know what this was when I posted, but only took a few minutes for Emily van Lidth de Jeude (ooh, lovely garden pix) to provide the answer. They’re volunteers in our flowerbed, back every spring.
It’s really small, only a couple of centimetres long. There are quite a few of them and they’re charming in an understated way.
