I guess one of the best measures of browser market share would be on the (very good) Google Zeitgeist page, and what I see there matches my perception of the conventional wisdom. The really good news on that page is the erosion of the 4.* browsers into invisibility. But it's sure not what I'm seeing here on ongoing.

My top three browsers in recent weeks:

BrowserHitsPercent
Internet Explorer442,077 58
Mozilla277,92436
Safari45,0826

Notes:

  • IE includes all versions, Windows and Mac.
  • Mozilla includes all agents calling themselves Mozilla and using Gecko, thus including Galeon.
  • Everything else vanishes in the static.
  • I'm happy to report the static contains a nontrivial number of visitors from Lynx users, and ongoing works fine for them.

I'll leave the interpretation to others.
